What TypeWorkout stores
Completed session metrics, a compact key and pair profile, settings, and progress history are stored in browser localStorage. The trainer does not send keystrokes or generated target text to a TypeWorkout server.
Custom text
A custom passage remains in the active tab. TypeWorkout does not upload it, add it to session history, or restore it after the page is closed. Users should still remove confidential, regulated, or identifying information before practice.
Challenge links
Challenge URLs contain a deterministic seed and public settings such as duration, language, and keyboard layout. A result link may include a self-reported WPM and accuracy target. It does not contain the generated passage or an account identifier.
Exports and deletion
You can export progress as a JSON file, import that file on another browser, or permanently clear local history from the progress page. Because the core product stores progress locally, TypeWorkout does not hold a server-side copy to retrieve or delete.
Advertising
Advertising is disabled in the source build until valid publisher identifiers are configured. When advertising is enabled, Google and consent-related services may process device, cookie, and ad-interaction data under their own policies and applicable law.
Analytics
Optional privacy-respecting site analytics may be enabled at deployment. Typing content and key-level performance are not included in analytics events.
